How does one begin to thank those who touch the heart so deeply, so profoundly, so soul felt that words feel inadequate? If you doubt angels wander the earth, you aren’t looking. This happened Monday morning.
A text arrives with a photo. The photo is a candle decorated with pearls (squee) and a message
from my niece, “For you, the strongest, most beautiful woman inside and out. My thoughts are always with you.” I saw my precious Katie just the night before. She’s part of the Chicken Collection, a spiritual marvel and a great friend to all. I think, “Isn’t she the sweetest of babydolls?”
An hour later, another photo of a candle, again decorated in pearls, feathers and love, arrives via text photo. This time it’s Gina, a girl so filled with joy, love and laughter people naturally gravitate to her. “Thanks to our friend Kate for putting these candles together. Healing prayers.” Hers features a photo of our family behind the candle. What is going on?
Then there is Baby Chicken, another candle, a photo of our family, a photo of The Norwegian, additional candles, pearls and hearts. “Did you get that from Kate?” I ask. Remember Baby Chicken is in Bama. “Yes!”
Sobbing outright begins when a missive arrives via DC from Middle Chicken and the collection of Political Chickens—Ben, Sarah and Eddie. “My friends wanted to include all of your favorite things: heels, makeup, fashion, cats, wine bread and us.” The photo features the candle surrounded by all my favorite things, including the little chickens who fill my heart to bursting.
An email check finds Chicken Cori, a photo of her candle and this, “Sending love and positive thoughts your way always. I had my love bracelet and Awesome Girl mini books when putting out the good vibes. Love you. You’re a rockstar.” No, babydoll, you are the rockstar.
Trish, The Goddess, is up next. She sends her “pearlized” version of the candle along with, “My pearlized candle with healing prayers burned all day.” This is followed by some of the best girls in the world, surrounding the candle, bumblebee breathing—which is a special yoga/reiki sound we learned a couple of days before. Thanks for the buzz Patti, Karen, Cathy, Marilyn and Anne. The world is a better place as you are in it.
And then there is the girl who started this, the divine Miss Kate. She writes, “At sunrise John and I lit this and kept it until sunset-in your honor-to your health and happiness.” The candle, photos of The Norwegian, hearts, Neptune and pearls lite her backyard. As she and her devotion, generosity of spirit and heart of love alights the lives of all whom come in her presence.
Monday, mid-afternoon, a candle is delivered to me explaining all. “These candles have been blessed. They contain Linda’s aromatic essence and hold her highest spiritual intent. She will be healed.” And this: “Miracles happen every moment so this is no great feat for us.”
I find the candles were sent to those so dear and blessed by our darling Doc, our astrologist, life advisor and spirit love. I ponder all night how best to thank this stable of kindness, deepest love and sustenance. Do I write this? Do I allow Duchess readers in this deeply?
I’m still wondering when I awake and this arrives ala Kate and Doc.
