Get Your Fun On…

The Duke of Cars asks us this month to take a serious look at the Jeep Wrangler. He’ll even put together a deal for you if you stop in.
The Jeep Wrangler is the one you think of when you imagine the original jeeps of wartime. It’s a compact and midsize four-wheel drive off road and sport utility vehicle. So popular, sturdy and reliable is this vehicle that Four Wheeler magazine named it 4 X 4 of The Decade.
It’s a gem both on the road and on trails. In fact, here in Arizona, you’ll recognize it as the Jeep used for the Pink Jeep Tours. For those who live afar, Pink Jeep Tours are a popular tourist attraction. Families and friends pile into a pink jeep to explore the trails and mountains of the outer Metro and Sedona areas. The open top JK Wranglers are stretched, fitted with off road tires and wheels, a CB radio stereo system and painted bright pink.

New paint and trim packages are available in the 2015 models.  Eight-speaker audio system and a new nine-speaker system that includes a subwoofer are also on the list. A Torx tool set is standard for all models, allowing owners to remove the windshield or doors wherever they may be and create that classic Jeep look. A package for Sport models includes steel wheels with 31-inch tires.

The Wrangler is known for its flexibility. It can be configured to hardtop, soft top or topless. Doors are removable but fully framed with roll up windows. But you might also choose available power windows and doors, map pockets or aluminum forged hinges or removable half-framed doors featuring manual locks. The choice is yours.

Kelley Blue Book weighs in heavily in favor of the Wrangler as well. For five years, it was named one of Models to Best Hold Its Value. In 2012 and 2013, it earned the Best Resale Value Award.

Fun fact: In 2007, the Wrangler set the Guinness World Record for highest altitude attained by a four-wheeled vehicle after ferrying Matthis Jeschke and his team up Chile’s Ojos del Salado, the highest volcano on Earth.
